Terms of Service
Last updated: 22 July 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of Narrator (the "Service"), operated by [your business/trading name — ABN if registered] ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you're using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you're agreeing on its behalf and confirming you have authority to do so.
1. What the Service does
Narrator is a Power BI custom visual and companion web app. You write a prompt describing the narration you want; the visual sends the rows currently on screen in your Power BI report to an endpoint you create, which generates a short text narration using a third-party AI model and returns it to be displayed in your report.
2. Accounts and sign-in
You sign in with a Microsoft account or a one-time email link. You're responsible for keeping your account and any endpoint secrets you generate confidential — anyone with a report's endpoint URL and its secret can trigger narrations against your usage allowance. If you believe a secret has leaked, rotate it from the prompt studio immediately; this issues a new secret without changing the endpoint URL already pasted into your report.
3. Plans, billing and usage limits
- Your first report is free, subject to a monthly narration allowance.
- Additional reports require a paid subscription slot, billed monthly in advance through Stripe, with usage-based add/remove billed immediately (prorated) when you buy or release a slot.
- Each report has a monthly narration allowance based on its plan. If a paid subscription lapses or a payment fails, the report associated with it may be reduced to the free allowance until the subscription is reinstated.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from the billing page, which opens Stripe's hosted billing portal.
- Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to process data you don't have the right to share with us and our sub-processors (see our Privacy Policy);
- Attempt to bypass usage limits, rate limits, or authentication;
- Use the Service to generate unlawful, harassing, or deceptive content;
- Reverse engineer, resell, or use the Service to build a competing product.
5. Your data
The rows your Power BI report sends to a narration endpoint, and the prompts you write, are sent to a third-party AI provider to generate the narration. We encrypt stored prompts, cached narrations, and request logs at rest. Full details of what we collect, why, and who we share it with are in our Privacy Policy.
6. Availability
We aim to keep the Service running reliably but don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, and the Service is provided without any uptime commitment or service level agreement. Scheduled or emergency maintenance may cause temporary downtime.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service, including decisions made based on a generated narration. Narrations are generated by an AI model and may be inaccurate — you're responsible for reviewing them before relying on them. Nothing in these Terms excludes any guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your reports at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, or that go unpaid for a paid subscription slot, with reasonable notice where practical.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
